  • Coaching looks different for everyone. That's what makes it PERSONAL. The premise of coaching lies in you wanting to get more out of your fitness without wasting time researching how to eat and exercise or spinning your wheels doing things that won't work. You wouldn't try to fix your car on your own without any training...isn't your body worth more than your vehicle?

  • We can't speak to training with others, but here's what you get with KLivFit:

    *Customized and personalized approach to eating and exercise so that you feel the difference fast.

    *Our flagship program, Formula3, is a stand alone experience, but you always have the option to join Teams and F3.2 as your needs and goals change. You’re not alone in your work to get and stay healthy.

  • You know this answer...everyone is different, of course. However, the caveat is that if you are consistent and are ready to change, it doesn't take long, especially compared to how long it's taken to get to where you are now! :) Many clients see noticeable changes within a few days depending on where they start. If you need to make a lot of changes, it will take some time. But, if you don't start now, how much longer will it take you?

  • Many clients still like to workout for an hour, but many also can get what they need in 30 minutes. There's no magic formula for time and energy that will promise results. We test out what kind of impact the workouts are having on your body and adjust accordingly.

  • The short answer is: No. The long answer is: Planning a meal is an experience we teach you so that you learn how to eat anywhere, at any stage of life. Counting macros and calories works if you need that specificity for competition or performance, but it's not realistic for most of us. Most of us need to know when and how to eat so that we can be energized for our actions and not be tied to a food scale or diary. You get tools to learn what has gotten you to where you are and an understanding of how to change...we help you practice good habits around food and movement so you never have to diet again.

  • Fasting is planned periods of not eating between meals. The reason we want time between our meals is to let the insulin levels in our blood to decrease. If insulin never comes down, our body creates inflammation that easily leads to chronic disease.

  • Fasting helps our body to burn fat for energy, reduces inflammation, improves digestion, reduces disease risk, improves energy and sleep, helps our cells recycle, and many other metabolic improvements. When our metabolism (how our body uses and creates energy) is working well, we feel good and don’t get sick.

  • To begin a fasting lifestyle, we don’t eat for 12 hours from dinner to the first meal of the next day. Then we wait 5-7 hours until we have our next meal. From there, we practice lengthening the time between the last meal of one day to the next time we eat. Over time, we can be comfortable fasting for several hours and up to several days. In Formula3, we practice fasting between 12-72 hours.

  • Fasting is all about time between meals. When you have a meal, you eat whole, nutritious foods until you’re satisfied. Following a low calorie diet means you eat anytime but only a certain amount and usually less than you need. A low calorie diet is not sustainable for long term and it decreases overall metabolic rate, making it harder to lose or maintain a fat loss. Fasting increases metabolism so that only extra body fat is lost.

  • Fasting is planned meal timing schedule. Starvation is an involuntary deprivation of food. The two are completely different. Fasting is helpful to heal our metabolic problems. Starving will kill you.

  • We can use a lot of fasting aids to help us through hunger, which only lasts about 15 minutes. If you can get past that 15 minutes, you won’t be hungry again for a while. And it gets easier. There are a lot of aids we can eat and drink when we need something more than just waiting it out. Remembering why you want to fast is one of the best ways to feel more successful when you start fasting. As you practice, it gets easier. And, hunger isn’t an emergency. We all have plenty of energy on our bodies to use and fasting helps us use it.

  • Even though fasting has helped us survive since time began, many educational systems have ignored the benefits of fasting as a practice to heal the body. Until recently, it was widely accepted that we had to eat every couple of hours to be healthy. Now we know that’s not true because of the enormous body evidence explaining how insulin and obesity are connected.

  • Anyone with a normal growth stage should not fast. That includes children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, those underweight or unresolved eating disorders. Healthy adults can all benefit from timing meals in a way that maintains a healthy body weight.

  • No. Our body will not use muscle or any of our organs for energy when we have fat stored for that purpose. The only time muscle wasting occurs is if our body fat percentage gets below 4%. For reference, elite marathon runners have between 8-10% body fat. Strength training will help build and preserve our muscle and is a crucial part of Formula3, as well as any healthy lifestyle. Exercise will always be a part of your life if you want to live a long time.

  • This depends on what you’re currently experiencing and how often you’re eating. Many people feel a difference immediately. Others, it takes longer but it is 100% dependent on how willing you are to practice. Eating less often will improve every part of your life. Many clients lose inflammation as soon as they extend their fast beyond what’s usual for them.

  • No. You will need some dumbbells at home, though. All the workouts can be done anywhere you have some extra resistance. There’s no reason you can’t exercise consistently if you want to. The workouts in Formula3 are designed to maximize your results without spending lots of time. They can all be done between 20-45 minutes depending on how frequently you want to strength train.
