Who doesn’t love a good success story? Even in low drama movies, there’s always a twist somewhere, otherwise, there’s nothing to watch. There’s no story there!

Not surprisingly however, when it comes to ourselves, we can often want to live in a fantasy land where we are struggle-free, where we don’t have to learn new habits or look damaging behaviors in the face. Many people want the easiest path when we’re talking about our health and fitness; surely, this is why the diet food industry was born.

We know this pretend world isn’t ever going to give us true success; it’s a fantasy to get something valuable without any sacrifice or work. We know there have to be obstacles to overcome and new skills to acquire. We know this intellectually, but sometimes, we just want the dream without the day labor.

Often, our greatest successes are born from our toughest struggles. It's in the crucible of adversity that we find the strength and determination to push past our limits and emerge as champions. Maybe for you, you’d just like to just be in the race, to be healthier than you currently are and not take yourself out because of your lifestyle habits—no first place medal is needed for you to feel better. Thankfully, we can make tremendous strides in our health with some lifestyle adjustments (you know the ones: eat meals not snacks, exercise, avoid processed foods and seed oils, sleep well, manage your stress, etc)

For most of us, the path to success, especially physical success, is not a smooth, straight road but rather a winding, tumultuous journey marked by setbacks and challenges. In fact, it’s exactly this kind of struggle that I experienced that birthed the Formula3 program. Now, I can look back at that time with gratitude for what I learned and how it changed me. In the moment, there were tears, frustration, a strong desire to quit and settle. But I’m so glad I didn’t.

It's during these moments of frustration that we face the choice: to succumb to hardship or to rise above it. Of course, no good story ever comes from the main character quitting in the middle of the challenge. We need to see them push through and win in the end. We know every setback presents an opportunity for growth. Whether it's a personal health challenge, a career setback, or a difficult relationship, each struggle offers the chance to learn, adapt, and ultimately triumph.

In Formula3, I've seen countless women turn their challenges into success. I've witnessed them overcome injuries, health obstacles, and emotional hurdles to emerge as stronger, more resilient versions of themselves. The key to turning the struggle into success lies in perseverance, resilience, and a relentless commitment to personal growth. It's about taking each setback as a lesson, each obstacle as an opportunity, and each challenge as a chance to prove one's strength.

As cliché as this sounds, by reframing our struggles as stepping stones toward success, we can harness the power of adversity to fuel our drive, sharpen our focus, and embolden our spirit. We just have to remind ourselves when we’re feeling low that there is a lesson we need to learn (maybe again) in this situation. And then, look for ways to use the setback as a step up.

So, to anyone facing adversity, remember that your struggles are not roadblocks but rather the raw material from which you can carve your path to success. Embrace the struggle, learn from it, and let it propel you toward the victory that awaits on the other side.

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t offer my assistance to you in this fight to be more fit.
